My love for anything-wedding

Written by: Victoria Grace

I have been designing wedding dresses and wedding cakes since the 5th grade, maybe even before.  I have a fascination with the grandeur of weddings.  I love the TLC because of "Say Yes To The Dress" "4 Weddings" & "Cake Boss".  Within the past five years, it seems to me, that the wedding dress trend is the "strapless mermaid".  At first, I was very fond of the trend.  I look back at old vintage 50s "mermaid" dresses, and I find them to be extremely stunning and sensual.   But to the past few weddings I have been too, it seems as if thats the only style of dress that exists.

Home-made Cake Pops

Written by: Victoria Grace

Lauren and I had some left-over cake batter when making cupcakes, so we made some cake pops!  They're very easy to make, I'll tell you what I did.

How To Make Cake Pops:

1. Bake a cake following the directions on the box and let it cool.
2. In a bowl, using your hands, literally break the cake into crumbs.  Turn the cake into a dirt-like
substance.
3. Using half of a can of whatever frosting you
desire, mix the frosting with the cake crumbs
until you have a play-dou substance.
4. Like you you would roll a meat-ball, roll a cake ball.
5. Stick in the balls into the freezer.
6. Stick the other half of the can of frosting, into a
microwave for 15-20 seconds. But be careful, it
                                                                                    can get real hot!
7. Using a spoon, you can drop some melted frosting on the balls and quickly add sprinkles on top.
8. Place your cake balls in the freezer for 25 minutes.
9.  Take the balls out and add a stick on the ball to make it a pop.
10.  Put them back in the freezer for 10 minutes and then enjoy!

Here are how mine turned out!

I hope you try them, they're delicious!

Red Velvet Cupcakes

Written by: Victoria Grace

It was a very chill summer wednesday.  Since we are technically still in Spring, it was very rainy.  My friend Lauren decided to stop by my home.   There was barely anything we could do, but we always manage to entertain ourselves somehow.  We chose to bake some cupcakes, but not just any ordinary cupcakes, no, red velvet ones.  Inspired by "Cake Boss" & "D.C. Cupcakes" on the TLC, we wanted to make some professional-looking ones...well professional looking to OUR standards...ha!  Here are a few photographs.  Tell me some stories you may have, such as, what's your best memory with red velvet cakes?

New Scarf!

Written by: Victoria Grace

I was at Macy's today and bought a summery scarf.  I chose lavender though there are a variety of pastel colors to choose from.  If you're interested, I found it in the Ralph Lauren department for 50% off.  It was originally $38.00 and I got it for $19.00.   I have decided to only buy items which will last a long time.  Scarfs are forever and summer pastel colors are too. I can wear this scarf and so can a 65 year old woman.     Two women asked me where I had found it.  I took their comments as a sign for me to buy it! ha!

Introducing Starbuck's New "Petites"

Written by: Victoria Grace

"Petites" are new small treats Starbuck's is now offering.  They're cute but more importantly, very tasty.  They can get rather messy, for example, the "red velvet whoppie pie", two cookie shaped red velvet cakes smashed together with cream cheese icing in the center like a cookie sandwich, had me asking for napkins.  The cake pops were rather delightful, I personally enjoyed their "rocky road cake pop" over their "birthday cake pop".  Next time you're at a Starbucks, check them out, they're good to look at, and better to eat!

I went shopping today for nothing in particular, but came home with three very lovely items.  One being a fabulous hat!  Hopefully later this summer I'll go on a cruise with some friends and make some great use of it.  I love it, it is so beautiful.  If you're interested, it's by Ralph Lauren and very chic!

With love,
